“I would recommend a rescue to anyone now. I know it’s not for everyone but the challenge and the reward you get back from them is priceless!”
—Paul West, At home with JACKSON and SULA, both rescue dogs. Adopted NANUK, now called “Bandit” in April 2009 |

“NORTH”This is one stylish boy! North is about 18 months old, and a big, strong young lad, KC-registered and neutered, currently living with a Siberian husky bitch and an aged terrier. North has come into rescue through no fault of his own and is looking for a firm leader with the time to invest in his continued training, exercise and socialisation in the home. He’d be an excellent candidate for working in harness, Cani-X, etc. North has lived with children before but also experienced some taunting at the hands of the youngsters next door so is recommended at this time for teens and older at this time. North is very friendly, happy, willing to please and loves a good cuddle. He will need someone who is willing to build a relationship with him and invest the time in this beautiful boy to bring him to a secure maturity. North is currently in West Yorkshire and ready to meet prospective adopters immediately...
“BUCK”Poor Buck! Rehomed recently, his new family loves him dearly but ran into snags with a landlord who backed out on the commitment to allow his family to have a pet...and so handsome Buck is again looking for just the right situation. This is an incredibly friendly dog, a handsome boy, coming three years old, and KC registered. He will steal your heart away and make you laugh in the process. This is a dog to hitch up to a kick-bike and go have some fun—he’s strong and willing and will love to learn to work. He likes to play ball, too, and will bring it to you and throw it at your feet, inviting play. Buck’s original assessment said that he’s “very friendly, well behaved, very affectionate, will come for cuddles and kisses, roll onto his back for belly rubs and generally has not problem at all being handled.” He grew up in a pub environment so is well socialised with meeting new people. We’re told he’s “great with the grandchildren”, though caution is always necessary when introducing large dogs and children—and training is recommended for both. This is a young dog, full of energy, and, with the typical Malamute high prey drive, needs a home with no cats or small furries...REHOMED MAY 2009
“OLLIE”Ollie is a much-loved dog whose owners’ circumstances changed and they were forced to request a rehome. Ollie is KC-registered, will be two in July, and has been happily living in foster care in the Bristol area with an Inuit-cross for the past two months. Professionally assessed, Ollie has been on a programme of increased socialisation, exercise and diet for several months and is coming along beautifully. As he gets along so well with other dogs, Ollie could be an excellent team dog or fit into a home with other dogs. His foster mummy says it’s time for a new home—or she and her dog will never let him go! If you have no children under seven or eight, no cats, and want a young dog with unlimited potential, and are willing to give him the love and time he deserves, Ollie could be the Malamute for you.
“ICE”This is a 2.5-year-old KC registered, neutered boy who’s been assessed by a professional Malamute breeder and trainer who reports that he is “confident, with a strong character”. His family, including older children, love him to bits but can’t give him what he needs—a “firm and fair” owner to give him time and attention to grow into himself. Ice needs some grooming, mental stimulation, exercise and play; he’s responsive to treats so will come on well in training and is recommended for a formal obedience class. He will likely also be an excellent working dog as he is strong and tractable. Ice has loads of energy and got on very well with the assessor’s German Shepherd bitch so should do well in a home with another dog, or dogs, but no cats, please.

“...It’s safe to say that we are completely smitten and there is no way in this world we will be giving her back! She is a fantastic dog and has settled so well and so quick, our house has completely come to life since her arrival.”
